For Immediate Release: Springfield Police Lieutenant retires after 21 years in law enforcement

The Springfield Police Department is announcing the retirement of Lieutenant Ron Hutcheson. Hutcheson began his career as an officer in 1986. In the last 21½ years, he advanced through the ranks of corporal and sergeant, retiring at the rank of lieutenant. He served under three police chiefs and saw the department grow from approximately 180 sworn officers to 325. His last day of employment was May 12, 2008.
