For Immediate Release: Neighborhood Night Out this Friday

On Friday, August 22, Springfield neighborhoods will celebrate Neighborhood Night Out (NNO) with a variety of events and activities such as block parties, cookouts, parades and exhibits, flashlight walks, contests and youth programs. Activities will get underway around 6:00 p.m. and last until about 10:00 p.m.

The purpose of these events is to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized
  • Increase neighborhood pride and cohesion

NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable way to promote neighborhood and police-community partnerships in our endeavor for a safe community. All are encouraged to stop by after 6:00 p.m. at any one the following locations:
