For Immediate Release: Springfield Police to host 3rd Annual Public Safety Expo
The Springfield Police Department will host the 3rd Annual Public Safety Expo this Saturday, June 21. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. and will be held in the Springfield Exposition Center located at 635 St. Louis Street in Springfield.
The main purpose of the Expo is to allow an opportunity for people to see the equipment up close that public safety officials use everyday in their jobs. All agencies will have representatives present to answer any questions not only about their jobs, but also how the equipment is used while they’re on the job. People who come to the Expo can expect to see police cars, fire trucks, SWAT vehicles, motorcycles, helicopters and ambulances. The public will be encouraged to climb in and sit in any of the vehicles present.
In addition, Police Service Dog demonstrations will be conducted throughout the day and there will be many other pieces of equipment for children and adults alike to see. On top of all of that, the SPD and many other agencies will have free giveaways to hand out throughout the day.
Doors open to the public at 10:00 a.m. and stay open until 4:00 p.m. and there is no cost to attend!
