For Immediate Release: Springfield Police Academy graduates seventeen new Police Officers

Graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 58th Springfield Police Academy will be held Friday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Praise Assembly of God Church located at 3535 N. Glenstone in Springfield.

During the course of the Police Academy, the 17 new officers have undergone 1008 hours (25 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. After graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 360 hours of on-the-job training. After successful completion of the FTO portion, they will be assigned to the Uniform Division with approximately 1368 hours of training.
