For Immediate Release: Charges filed in Springfield homicide case

Charges of 2nd Degree Murder have been filed against Darryl Vest, age 43 of Kansas City, MO. Police had arrested Vest in connection with the beating death of James Dake, age 33 of Columbia, MO. The incident occurred late Monday night in the apartment complex at 727 South Avenue in Springfield. 

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. Vest’s bond was set at $250,000.
