For Immediate Release: Springfield Police to host informational seminar for would-be officers
The Springfield Police Department would like to invite anyone who is interested in becoming a Police Officer to attend the upcoming Informational Seminar. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 at the South District Station located at 2620 W. Battlefield Road in Springfield. The seminar for lateral hires from other agencies will be an hour later at 8:00 p.m., same location.
Applicants will learn about the entire testing process, including the physical agility test, written examination, oral interview, background investigation and post offer exam. It is not mandatory for an applicant to attend but information given during the seminar may prove helpful to them during the testing process.
Applications for the January 2009 Police Academy and January 2009 Lateral Program are due to the City’s Office of Human Resources by July 25, 2008. The physical agility test and written examination for both processes will be on August 10, 2008.
