Jonathan Gano - Public Works Operations
Supervisor - Street Maintenance
Jonathan Gano serves as the Public Works Operations Supervisor responsible
for all street maintenance activities, including the maintenance and repair
of the traveled way, bridges, and waterways, and inspection of all new public
improvements in new development related to streets and drainage. He has served
in this capacity since May 2004. Prior to working for the City, Gano served
as an engineer officer in the United States Army for 8 years, where his duties
took him to 10 different states and 9 different countries. He is credited with
pioneering the introduction of explosive and non-explosive breaching in the
urban environment into combat engineer training. Gano holds a master of science
degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in engineering management and
a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the United States Military
Academy . He is a professional engineer registered in the state of Missouri
since 2001.
Craig Noblitt - Street Maintenance
Craig serves as the Street Maintenance Supervisor for the Street Maintenance
section. As such, he is responsible for executing the City's maintenance
operations of it's more than 800 miles of streets and alleys. Craig began
his career with the City of Springfield on January 16, 1974 , as a Laborer
in the Sanitary Services Division at the Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant.
He was promoted to Equipment Operator I in the Sewer Maintenance Section
on June 20, 1974 . He was promoted to Waterways Maintenance Man on August
1, 1974 in the Street Maintenance Division's Bridge and Waterways Section.
In Street Maintenance he also held the positions of Street Maintenance Worker,
Equipment Operator II, Equipment Operator III, Maintenance and Construction
Craftworker I, Waterways Crew Leader, Street Cleaning Supervisor, and his
current position as Street Maintenance Supervisor.
Larry Teel- Bridge and Waterways
Larry Teel serves as the Street Maintenance Supervisor for the Bridges and
Waterways section. As such, he is responsible for maintaining the City's
60 bridges and miles and miles of waterways. Larry Teel has been with the
Department of Public Works for 25 years. He started June 18 th , 1979 as
a temporary laborer in the Street Maintenance Division. He was hired full
time as a laborer December 18 th , 1979 . He was further promoted to Maintenance
Worker in January 1980 and served in that capacity until he was promoted
to Equipment Operator II in November 1986. He assumed his current responsibilities
on March 4 th , 1996 .
Larry Jones - Utility Cuts
Larry Jones serves as the Street Maintenance Supervisor for the Utility Cut
Repair section. He is responsible for inspecting and repairing over 800 excavations
in the Right of Way each year. Larry started working for the City of Springfield
on December 16, 1971 in the Street Maintenance Division's Bridge and Waterways
Section as a Laborer, and held positions as Equipment Operator I, Waterways
Maintenance Man, and Equipment Operator III. Larry was promoted to the position
of Maintenance and Construction Craftsman in March 1980 in the Utility Cut
Repair Section and also held the position of Crew Leader before being promoted
to his current position as Street Maintenance Supervisor in April 1989.
