West Sunshine (State Highway 413 / US 60)
Corridor Study
There will be a Open House meeting of the West Sunshine Corridor Study
on November 2, 2006 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Faith Family Church
located at 3935 West Sunshine.
The purpose of the corridor study is to prepare a multi-jurisdictional
corridor study between the City of Republic, Greene County and the City
of Springfield (see map). The study will address three major issues:
- Design issues:
The general corridor guiding design principals will be identify by stakeholders, (property owners/citizens) the Technical Review Committee and Staff. The items to be examined are desired parking lot design and location, building design and materials, landscaping and buffering, design of service areas, outdoor storage and mechanical equipment, fences, walls and freestanding signage (including billboards) for both activity centers and areas in between activity centers.
- Land uses issues:
The corridor study will identify future or potential activity centers along
the corridor and define the type and size of activity centers. The corridor
study will also examine other land use development scenarios based on future
transportation networks and environmental issues within the corridor study
area.
- Major transportation issues:
The study will examine the desired vehicle circulation and access along the
corridor. The study will propose access management guidelines to be used
along the corridor. Major consideration will be focused on inter-connectivity
and access management to and from sites along the corridor with primary
focus on interchanges or major intersections where activity centers could
be located.
This is the third meeting to get input from the stakeholders (property/business
owners along the corridor) and citizens. The study is expected to be
complete in late 2006. If you have any questions please contact Bob Hosmer
at 864-1834.
We encourage you to
take a few minutes and complete our Corridor
Preference Survey and Questionnaire. |
