John D. Wylie was elected to City Council in April 2001 and re-elected in April 2005. He currently
serves as Chair of the Council’s Plans & Policies Committee, is a member of
the Community Involvement Committee, and the Public Involvement
Committee. In addition, he served on the City’s Planning
and Zoning Commission from 1993 to January 2000, and was serving
as Chair when his term ended.
John, a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration,
is a long-time resident of the City of Springfield. He comes from
a background of a family owned small business. He and his wife,
Nancy, serve as pastors of the Christian Church in Seymour, Missouri.
John has served on a number of community service and ministerial
alliance boards and is a member of the Elks Club. Additionally,
he attends many community events and meetings as a member of the
City Council.
