Biography

 

Dan Chiles was elected as General Councilman D in April 2007 and he serves on the City Council Community Involvement Committee. He is the Chairman of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks and is a founding member of the both the YMCA Camp Wakonda Ybee?s and the national Green Mechanical Council.

Dan was born and raised in Springfield and is a 6th generation Missourian. He graduated from Harvard University in 1975 with an honors undergraduate degree and a concentration in Government. Dan is a former house and bridge contractor and he works as Vice President of Marketing at Watts Radiant, a manufacturer of radiant floor heating equipment. He holds 10 United States patents with a focus on electric and mechanical equipment. Dan?s wife Margy holds a degree in Engineering Physics from MSU and they have four children: Philip, Thomas, David and Amelia.

Dan has been active with the City Utilities Board, the Harvard Schools Committee, Glendale 1971 Reunion Committee and the Southeast Springfield Neighborhood Association among others.
